I created this stingray as an exploration of bio-mechanical objects. It started out as a fascination of the untouchable way the stingray dominates the sea. Its movements are slow, majestic and not disturbed by anything in its surrounding. Its wings move in a beautiful wavelike fashion.
By creating a mechanical reproduction of a stingray completely made out of wood, I emphasized the creatures complexity and impressive presence.
